Staying connected while traveling internationally can be surprisingly expensive. Traditional roaming can come with high charges, while buying a new physical SIM card in every country can be inconvenient.
That is where travel eSIMs come in.
In this Eskimo eSIM review, we look at what makes Eskimo different, how its Global eSIM works, and how you can claim 1GB of free global data using the MiniTasky promo code: MINITASKY1GB.

What Is Eskimo eSIM?
Eskimo is a travel eSIM provider designed for international travelers who want mobile internet without dealing with physical SIM cards or expensive roaming.
According to Eskimo, its service supports destinations across 175+ countries, while its Global plan currently provides coverage across 126+ countries.
The concept is simple: install your Eskimo eSIM once, purchase or redeem the appropriate data plan, and use mobile data while traveling in supported destinations.
There is no need to wait for a SIM card to be delivered and no need to physically replace your existing SIM.
Why We Like the Eskimo eSIM Concept
One of the most interesting features of Eskimo is its approach to data validity.
Eskimo states that its fixed data plans do not expire, meaning unused fixed-plan data can remain in your account until you are ready to use it.
This can be useful for people who travel several times a year.
For example, imagine buying data before a trip and using only part of it. With a traditional plan that expires after a fixed number of days, unused data may simply disappear. Eskimo's fixed-data model is designed to avoid that problem.
Important: the no-expiry benefit applies to eligible fixed data plans. Unlimited plans continue to have their stated usage periods.

Use One eSIM Across 126+ Countries
For frequent travelers, one of the biggest advantages of a global eSIM is convenience.
Eskimo's Global plan covers 126+ countries, spanning regions including North America, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
That means a traveler visiting several countries may be able to keep using the same Eskimo eSIM rather than purchasing and installing a new physical SIM each time.
Eskimo also lists individual destinations including countries such as the United States, Japan, India, Australia, France, Germany, Thailand, Malaysia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, among many others.
No More SIM Swapping
Physical SIM cards can be annoying when traveling.
You may need to:
- Find a local mobile store
- Buy a SIM card
- Remove your primary SIM
- Keep track of the small physical card
- Replace it again when you return home
With an eSIM, the mobile profile is installed digitally.
Eskimo says its eSIM can be installed directly and that users can use personal hotspot/tethering to share the connection with other devices.
Can You Keep Your Existing SIM?
Yes. An eSIM can be particularly convenient for dual-SIM-compatible phones because you can keep your regular SIM while using the travel eSIM for data.
This allows you to keep your normal phone number available while using Eskimo for mobile internet during your trip.
Eskimo also notes that eSIM compatibility depends on the device and, in some cases, the region where the device was purchased.
So before signing up, check that your smartphone is eSIM-compatible and unlocked.

Eskimo highlights several features that make its service useful for travelers:
